Ginny Channell MHA, business manager
Ginny Channell, MHA, found her way to internal medicine the same way a lot of good things happen: a phone call, good timing, and a little luck. She needed a job after college, called Dr. Kinney during finals week, and was thrilled to hear there was an opening. The rest was history!
Since then, Ginny developed a deep appreciation for everything that happens behind the scenes to keep a medical practice running in an ever-evolving healthcare system.
That appreciation led her to pursue a Master of Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina, giving her the tools to manage not just the day-to-day operations of a practice, but the bigger picture of how great care actually gets delivered. In her view, primary care physicians and their teams are the quarterbacks of a patient’s healthcare journey, and keeping that team running well is work worth doing.
As Business Manager, Ginny sees the MDVIP model as more than an operational structure. It’s the thing that makes genuine connection possible. When providers have the time to slow down and be present, patients feel it. Knowing a patient, she believes, is about building something real, big or small, and making sure every person who walks through the door knows the team actually cares about their wellbeing.
Outside the practice, her definition of a healthy life is straightforward: being surrounded by the people you love and spending your time doing what brings you joy.
